Teaching The Bible Effectively With A Bible Timeline Chart

Regrettably, a many Pastors and Bible teachers in our churches go on and preach light weight, flimsy, superficial, shallow sermons and their members barely grow in Bible knowledge. Preachers love to preach'moral essays' and'warming affirmations' because supposedly, if we truly love people this is what we will do. Regrettable it seems, if God's people are falling through the cracks'for a lack of knowledge' as long as we're nice and loving to all. In reality, the more like our world, the less relevant we're to our world.

Why do we get stuck in a rut of our pet topics and feel good sermons?
We instruct on a verse from Genesis and a narrative about John and a theme from the book of Ezekiel and then the example of Paul or the strength of Samson - bits from here and there, but we do not put it all together in a clear understandable, simple to remember, perspective with a decent Bible TimeLine including Church History as well. Constantly we're bombarded with new books, modernist ideas, a few of them hazardously leaning toward Liberal thinking, but if we could be taught the basics of Church history, we then wouldn't be so doomed to repeat it.
Let's us as teachers and preachers stitch together the aspects of the Bible and God's plan into a seamless tapestry that our people are able to draw on for the rest of their lives, to help them to comprehend God, His Eternal Plan, the function of the Church and how to better translate the Bible to model our lives by.
It is not difficult to do, and it's not boring if we're prepared to put in a bit of effort prayer and fervor, and just perhaps you can employ a Bible Timeline as well.
