A Biblical Bible Timeline Poster Presents A Graphic Mode To Convey Biblical Events And Characters And Realities

In a Bible class some years ago, one person who had been a Christian and been involved in the local Church for many years, said,"Yes, but Abraham had the Law and so he understood about......" (they weren't referring to the pre-Moses law) I wonder how many Christians will really pick up the error in this statement. Moses came about about five hundred years after Abraham and so it is impossible. I have since made up a Biblical chronology chart and explained in a more graphic way the time period of individuals and events.

Years ago, I was preaching on the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, and a retired minister and powerful preacher of the Gospel, who had been in the ministry for 40 years, came to me and reproved me smartly over some interesting points I made and he stated 1Ti 1:4'Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.' I humbly asked him if I was saying anything of a heretical nature at all, to which he said"No". I continued on to describe that in the case of that particular Scripture, it wasn't speaking to examining the Bible but to the false teaching and philosophy of Gnosticism, but he would not accept it. Let me ask, how can a 40 year minister & laborer in the Gospel, not know and understand about a thing that possibly half the books of the New Testament discuss?
How can he understand and preach the Bible in fullness without being aware of a thing that was so influential in the New Testament church? And then how can the congregation hope to figure out these things and be in a position to understand their Bible well, if they're not told?
Let's us as instructors and preachers stitch together the aspects of the Bible and His plan into a logical whole that our people can draw on for the rest of life, helping them to figure out God, His Eternal Plan, the function of the Church and how to better interpret the Bible to model our lives by.
It is not difficult to do, and it is not boring if we are prepared to put in a bit of study with prayer and fervor, and just maybe you can utilize a Bible Timeline as well.
